“The Taylor Chamber really appreciated the opportunity to be part of our CommuniTee. It was a wonderful demonstration of our city and was also great representation of our town.”

LogoNation – A Real American Success Story

Jennifer and Denny Watson had a dream: To be recognized by businesses and communities throughout the country as the leader in community-oriented advertising.

In August of 1998, the Watsons incorporated LogoNation in Hillsborough, NC. They started their business with a simple tabletop pad printer they bought for $2000, and set about making promotional items like key chains, coffee mugs and pens.

However, their aspirations were much larger than that what that little printer could produce. They decided to take the plunge into screen-printing items like t-shirts, sweatshirts and caps.

After taking a class in screen-printing, the Watsons decided to pursue their goals of making LogoNation one of the biggest screen-printers in America.

It was late in 1998 when Denny and Jennifer took a marker, and sketched the idea for their signature product on the back of a blank t-shirt – that idea was called the CommuniTee.

The original CommuniTee is LogoNation’s annual community promotion t-shirt. The shirt is designed for small towns and communities, and incorporates the one thing that makes that place unique.

A good example is that the town of Indiana, Pennsylvania is famous for being the birthplace of actor, Jimmy Stewart.

Once the idea for the CommuniTee was born, it had to be sold. With knowledge of an excellent sales system, Jennifer and Denny set out to sell the first CommuniTee in Natchez, MS. The response was overwhelming, and Denny and Jennifer soon agreed that they were going to need a much bigger space.

LogoNation moved from its headquarters in Hillsborough, NC, to their current location in Mooresville, NC. Their business has grown so rapidly that they had to add on an additional 5000 square feet to accommodate training, development, graphic design and customer service.

Today, LogoNation is one of the largest screen-printers in the country. This year, LogoNation will make over half a million shirts for over 1000 small towns across the country.
